The CompTIA ( Computing Technology Industry Association) is an organization that brings together many players in the computing business, including technology vendors, training companies, end-user organizations of all kinds, plus representatives from industry and the academia.

The purpose of the organization is to identify technical skills where certain measures of competency are beneficial to the Professionals, and to design examinations that stress those kinds of skills, and knowledge that are most likely to relate to real-world job responsibilities and activities.

In short, CompTIA's biggest goal is to help its members identify the kinds of job roles that are most urgently needed in the workplace, and to design methods to test individuals to help ensure that they've got the right skill, what it takes to fill those jobs.

CompTIA A+ Certification

CompTIA A+ certification is an international industry credential Certificate that validates the knowledge of computer service technicians and Software vendors.

Major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers accept CompTIA A+ as the standard in foundation-level.

The exams cover a broad range of hardware and software technologies.

The skills and knowledge measured by the CompTIA A+ exams were from industry-wide and worldwide job task analysis.

Earning CompTIA A+ certification proves that a candidate has a broad knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking.

CompTIA Network+ Certification

The CompTIA Network+ certification is an international industry credential Certificate, which validates the knowledge of networking professionals with at least nine months of experience in network support or administration or adequate academic training.

A typical candidate would have CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge, but this is not a prerequisite.

 

An accepted foundation-level, vendor-neutral certification for networking professionals, many IT certifications integrate CompTIA Network+ into their curriculums.

CompTIA Security+™ Certification

The CompTIA Security+ certification tests for security knowledge of an individual with two years on-the-job networking experience, with emphasis on security.

The exam covers industry-wide topics, including communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, access control, authentication, external attack and operational and organization security.

CompTIA Security+ is can be an elective or prerequisite to advanced security certifications.

The objectives of CompTIA Security+ were derived from the results of industry, government and academia.

CompTIA today has to be considered, because of theft and destruction of intellectual property takes place despite the presence of firewalls, encryption and corporate edicts.

The industry and governments around the world must have a well-trained workforce to effectively combat hackers, attacks and security threats. CompTIA Security+ is the standard validation for that workforce.

CompTIA Server+ Certification

CompTIA Server+ certification is an international industry credential Certificate that validates the knowledge of individuals having 18-24 months of experience with Industry Standard Server Architecture (ISSA) technology.

Professionals who want to certify their advanced technical knowledge in areas such as RAID, SCSI, multiple CPUs, should consider this certification.

While CompTIA Server+ does not require CompTIA A+ certification as prerequisite, either this certification or similar is recommended.
